Introducing the new HALO 80 Blast Bin
September 2011 - AIGIS Blast Protection Ltd are pleased to announce the launch of the new HALO 80 Blast Protected Litter Bin; the second of Aigis’s Bomb Proof Bin range to receive official star rating approval from the UK Home Office against its current stringent testing protocols, thereby assuring users of exceptional blast protection and safety for public areas.
Litter bins were removed from many UK public spaces in the 1990's following high profile terrorist attacks. Many have still not been replaced due to continued terror threats, and with 400 million tonnes of litter produced every year in the UK alone and an annual street cleaning bill reaching almost £1 billion pounds, the lack of litter bins is costing the economy in a big way.
Aigis HALO 80 Blast Bin solves this problem by providing a cost effective waste management solution while delivering all round protection for the public by absorbing and weakening the explosion unlike a standard litter bin which will fragment as a result of an explosion, spreading the lethal effects further.
Working in conjunction with a major UK International Airport, the HALO 80 has been designed alongside a range of bins aimed specifically at airports. The HALO 75 and HALO 45 Litter Bins are a non-blast, low cost solution for secure areas where blast bins may not apply, while presenting design continuity with the HALO 80.
The HALO 80’s ergonomic design allows for easy and efficient emptying in high traffic public areas such as airports, shopping malls and railway stations. A recycling option is available for the environment conscious, splitting general waste from recyclable materials.
The HALO 80 Blast Bin and HALO Airport Bin Series are available in a wide range of colours and finishes and can be customised with promotional decals and logos to customer specification.
